Wanting to do something special to announce their wins from the 20th annual Salon Today 200, Interlocks leveraged the social media ‘mannequin challenge’ which as at the height of its popularity in December 2016. “Our goal was threefold,” says Jordan Becker, director of marketing and business development. “We wanted to celebrate our amazing staff, showcase our beautiful newly renovated salon space and the services we offer, and connect with our social media audience with a fun, engaging video.”

Becker and Amy Jones, the salon graphic designer and media coordinator, recruited any available staff, friends and family members to come in an hour before opening and staged them throughout the salon and filmed the video.

“The Mannequin Challenge Facebook post reached nearly 15,000 people, received 514 reactions and was share 24 times,” Eramo says. “On Instagram, the video received 667 impressions and 66 likes.”
