Local Honey maintains a mission of old-fashioned quality and traditional Southern hospitality. When it came to designing a series of print ads for several free, weekly publications, graphic designer Anna Landewe pulled vintage images and old mugshots, which stayed true to the salon’s visual branding, piqued reader interest, and were cost-effective because old police images are considered public domain and carry no royalty charges. “We found the images really draw attention and help to associate that vintage-glam look with a bit of our charm and a sense of humor,” Bulluck says.
