While December is an extraordinarily busy time for Santa at his North Pole-based toy shop, he still found time to visit with tots at Chiquicuts Kids Hair Salon in Ottawa, Ontario. In fact, he made regular stops to the salon to have his picture snapped with young clients receiving their haircuts.

It's all part of the enchantment of this niche salon, where clients regularly play on Wii stations and enjoy movies on large flat screens during their services. Surrounded by a memorable castle decor, clients are made comfortable in the stations ergonomically fitted for children.


"We provide a safe, child-focused and chemical-free environment," says Chiquicuts President Nedelka Marin-Martinez. "We enjoy seeing little ones running towards our door, excited to get into our shop and have fun while they have a haircut."

Parents, typically armed with cameras, appreciate the salon's stylists, who know how to have fun with children. In addition to hosting many special occasion parties, where wee clients have updos, makeup and their nails done, the salon has karaoke, activities and games. Santa's timely appearance simply added an extra holiday festivity to the salon's everyday magic.
