Where it's at:

Kiersten and Company Salon and Day Spa in Tallahassee, Florida
Description on menu: Mend damaged ends, reduce breakage, increase hair strength, infuse moisture and protect against thermal and chemical stress.
Application: Cover the client's hair with a plastic cap, place her under a warm dryer for 15 -20 minutes. This will allow the treatment to deeply penetrate the hair, leaving it silky soft, immensely shiny and manageable for styling.
How much it costs: $15
Salon's profit on the service: "Deep Conditioning Treatments are highly profitable services!" says owner Kiersten Walden. "As add-on services, they allow the stylist to increase the individual ticket, thus allowing them to reach their daily goal faster."
How many appointments are made each month: 50-60 each month, per stylist.
How long it takes: 20-30 minutes.
Target market: African-American women and their daughters.
Special marketing tips for the service: "This service is a fabulous alternative to hot oil treatments," Walden says. "I suggest offering this service to clients with either natural or relaxed hair, and who battle dry, brittle hair."
