THE STAR-STUDDED, salon-packed Millennium Harms Software Be-Cause event at Tela Salon in the Meatpacking District of NYC brought together more than 240 salon professionals in a kick-off party to benefit Beauty Changes Lives.

Beauty Changes Lives is a non-profit initiative designed to raise awareness of how careers in the hair, beauty and wellness industry transform lives both personally and professionally. Created by the American Association of Cosmetology Schools (AACS), Beauty Changes Lives is supported by a coalition of beauty professionals including educators, product manufacturers, celebrities and industry icons.

Presenting at the event was Beauty Changes Lives Ambassador and Spokesperson, Ted Gibson, along with Brig Van Osten, winner of Shear Genius 3. Attendees at the event were challenged to come up with their own "Be" word. "We are trying to motivate the salon industry by bringing influential people together to focus on something important and doing something for other people," says John Harms, CEO of Millennium by Harms Software and founder of the Be-Cause event. "We have been inspired by what other salon professionals have done in their own communities. We've selected Beauty Changes Lives as our charity with the goal to raise enough money to help aspiring hairdressers attend beauty school."
