With the FICA Tip Tax legislation included in two No Tax on Tips bills in both the House and Senate in Congress, the Professional Beauty Association is rallying owners to join the campaign to help carry the proposed legislation into law.
“From the 107th Congress in 2001 to the present 119th Congress, the FICA Tax Fairness legislation has been the longest collaborative effort on behalf of the professional beauty industry for federal tax equity,” says Myra Irizarry, PBA Director of Government Affairs. “The current partnership between the Professional Beauty Association and the International Salon/Spa Business Network have brought us to this moment—we’re asking owners of beauty-based businesses to encourage their representatives to include No Tips on Taxes in the new tax package.”
“When it comes to No Tax on Tips and the FICA Tip Tax legislation, we are on the 5-yard line, and we need to stay in the game,” says Frank Zona, owner of Zona Salons and the Government Affairs Chair for ISBN.
To make it easy to carry through, PBA put together a campaign form that helps owners take action by calling and messaging their members of congress and the White House. Join the campaign!
