America’s Beauty Show (ABS) by Cosmetologists Chicago (CC) has announced the creation of the ABS Global Image Awards, which replaces the former CC STARS Photo Competition.

The ABS Global Image Awards will recognize hairdressing talent on an international level. The photo competition requests entries from the best of the best in original hairstyling, hair coloring and haircutting, in eight different categories.

“America’s Beauty Show is ecstatic about our upcoming worldwide competition,” says Paul Dykstra, CEO of America’s Beauty Show. “Our goal is have The ABS Global Image Awards portray the originality and talent that resides in the professional beauty industry, no matter what corner of the world it is practiced.”

The Global Image Awards Categories include:

ABS Global Image Awards are open to all licensed salon professionals and barbers or the business equivalent where licensure is not required. In addition, there is a category specifically for cosmetology students. The deadline to submit entrees is October 31, 2016. All entrees must include up to three models with three different styles per category entry.

All categories will be judged by an elite group of highly esteemed salon industry leaders, influencers and masters from across the globe. Each professional category will merit onewinner, who will receive on-stage presence during America’s Beauty Show 2017, March 25-27, 2017 at McCormick Place in Chicago. In addition to each category winner, one extraordinary submission will be awarded The Leo Passage Gold Trophy in honor of the late Pivot Point founder, Leo Passage.
