Earthly Body, Inc., manufacturers of natural skin and hair care products, is walking the talk as they announce plans to go green in a big way. They have contracted certified woman-owned and leading solar energy development firm, Independent Energy Solutions, Inc. (IES), to construct and install a custom designed rooftop Photovoltaic (PV) System for its 50,000 sq ft manufacturing facility, located in Chatsworth, Ca. Once installed, Earthly Body’s solar electric system is expected to reduce C02 emissions by 1,834 tons over 25 years, which is said to be the equivalent of planting 31.4 acres of trees. IES is scheduled to begin construction this month, and will be installing 252 Hyundai solar modules, one Advanced Energy central inverter and a custom designed racking system by the end of 2013.
President and Co-Founder, Kevin Wachs, stated Monday, “Earthly Body is dedicated to the sustainability of our planet, which is seen not only in the natural products we produce, but in our commitment to manufacturing these products in a low-waste, green facility. After months of research, we have selected IES to design and install our new solar energy system, and trust that they are the most qualified and fit for this project.”
