“We expanded upon the 5x5 stage idea and created a theater in the round. The yin yang which is suspended above the color bar represents the balance we desire and the opposite personalities of my wife and myself, which together create a complimentary synergy that has lasted 38 years.”

JUDGES’ COMMENTS:

“The circular service area is my favorite room of all the entries. The front retail area encourages shopping while introducing the guest to the salon’s style and brand.”—Ortmann

“The ‘theater in the round’ idea for the floor plan works well with the drop ceiling design.”—McGwire

“Having the ability to incorporate all styling areas around the color bar must create a very lively, creative atmosphere for both stylists and clients on a busy day. It is also commendable that the owner chose to incorporate LED lighting throughout the salon to its full extent, being both environmentally and cost effective.”—Soukhopalova
