Kevin.Murphy, the first salon professional network to achieve Gold Status with Green Circle Salons, is updating their eco-friendly efforts with the organisation. As part of the Green Circle Salons network, these salons adopt more environmentally friendly practices such as recycling and repurposing hair foils, color tubes, paper and plastics, as well as by diverting excess hair chemicals from being rinsed down the drain.

Recent milestones in the Green Circle Salon program include:

  • Nearly doubling the number of participants in one year. 116 KEVIN.MURPHY salons joined the program in 2016 for a total of 244 total KEVIN.MURPHY salons onboard today.

  • KEVIN.MURPHY salons saved approximately 110,000 pounds of waste in 2016. This combined with 2015 efforts equals a total of approximately 184,000 pounds of waste saved by KEVIN.MURPHY salons in two years.

  • In 2017, current KEVIN.MURPHY salon participants are expected to divert 160,000 to 180,000 pounds of waste from landfills and waterways. Combined with collection from new salons throughout the year, KEVIN.MURPHY will likely hit the 200,000 pound plateau this year.
