Terry McKee and James Amato decided to purchase a print ad in their local Style Magazine to get the word out about Nuovo Salon Group’s new rewards program. The magazine, which focuses on fashion, dining, shopping and lifestyle has a heavy female readership. “Instead of leading with the program’s details which would read like a wall of fine print, we chose a timely, emotional theme and whimsical design to draw in the reader, then let the program details live on our website,” says McKee.

Featuring a graphic representation of confetti, the resulting ad encourages readers to love themselves and then be rewarded. “Since implementing this program in March, 876 guests have enrolled and retail sales have jumped 22 percent,” reports McKee. “Instead of noticing business slow down in summer months when the snowbirds travel north, we’ve experienced a 12 percent increase because reward guests are more eager to try a new service in order to receive their bonus gift.”
