Beauty Retail Revolution

SalonInteractive, the online retail platform for the beauty industry, recently launched the Beauty Retail Revolution (BRR) - a movement to bring back retail revenue to salons, barbershops, and beauty professionals. The BRR mission is to empower beauty professionals to invoke change within the industry and fight to maintain the professionalism of professional products.

Through a series of events called Beauty Retail Revolution Rallies, SalonInteractive is bringing together industry leaders, beauty professionals, and brands to create a space for community. The events offer a blend of education, networking, and strategies in beauty retail aimed at supporting and uplifting industry professionals.

The first Beauty Retail Revolution Rally, held in an intimate group at San Diego Made Factory on September 30,  brought together beauty professionals and shared their thoughts, fostering meaningful dialogue and strong community vibes.

“Our first Beauty Retail Revolution Rally was inspiring, leaving beauty professionals feeling hopeful and motivated. The energy in the room was incredible from start to finish,” shared Randy Cotten, president of SalonInteractive.

“Beauty pros work hard, and retail revenue in this industry should be theirs. This event, and the others to come, are about fostering that unity and igniting change.”

The San Diego BRR rally featured a panel discussion, with participants sharing insights and experiences that sparked engaging conversations. Panelists included Lexi Lomax, salon owner, host of the 10 Minute Beauty Business Podcast, and creator and founder of Salon Quarterly; Alicia Percy, an independent stylist at Salon Bordeaux; Meghan Foley, owner of Meghan Noel Studio; and Austin Campbell, an owner of Sola Salon Suites in San Diego.

“Our partners showed up, participated, and supported us, making the night even more special,” added Rachel D’Angelo, vice president of education and success. “Together, we raised donations and spread awareness for the amazing cause, HairtoStay, with the added excitement of raffle donations and partner contributions.”

The next BRR event is October 22, 2024, at 6:00 pm in Los Angeles.

About Beauty Retail Revolution: Instead of supporting their local salons, many salon clients have looked to large and/or online retailers to fulfill their beauty needs—in many cases, thinking they are getting a better deal. The result is a mass exodus of retail revenue from salons, causing many to give up hope about offering or selling retail at all. SalonInteractive vows to change that. As the online retail platform for the beauty industry, SalonInteractive recently launched the Retail Beauty Revolution (BRR) - a movement dedicated to bringing retail revenue back to salons, barbershops, and beauty professionals where it belongs.

“For so many years, salon professionals have made sure their clients look amazing when they leave their chairs only to have them take a picture of the products to buy them somewhere else,” added Cotten. “We don’t think beauty pros should lose that revenue to someone who’s not involved in helping their clients. The pros are the ones with their hands on the client’s hair and can properly diagnose what products they need. When it comes to retail revenue, suddenly, all of these large corporations want to be involved. The Beauty Retail Revolution is about changing that. It’s a way for beauty professionals to discuss what they want to change in the beauty industry. And what better place for a revolution to start than in a salon?”
