Located in the heart of downtown Bethesda, MD, Bella Bethesda Salon showcased the stylings of its staff in a unique hair show called Hair & Now, which featured the popular everyday styles of men, women and brides spanning the Roaring Twenties to the 21st century to demonstrate how throwbacks of the past influence the looks of today.

Proceeds from the event benefited N Street Village, a Washington, D.C.-based nonprofit that offers a safe, empowering community for women facing homelessness, poverty, and other challenges. Since opening its doors in September 2007, Bella Bethesda has worked with several charitable organizations including Locks of Love during the salon's annual Cut It For a Cause campaign.
"This event was an opportunity for Bella Bethesda to show appreciation to our clients for their continuous support and our dedication to the community in which we are grateful to be a part of. It is our mission to give back to this great community that has embraced Bella Bethesda since the beginning," said Stacy Dabney Ramirez, co-owner of Bella Bethesda.
The night kicked off with a cocktail reception followed by the high-glam hair show featuring hair styles and make-up artistry by Bella Bethesda. Stylists were on hand to offer tips on recreating the featured looks at home including classic pin-up updos of the swinging 1940s, flowing locks of the psychedelic 1960s, and mohawks of the punk rock 1980s.
Throughout the evening, guests had the opportunity to participate in multiple raffles to win items ranging from beauty products to a diamond necklace provided by renowned Washington, D.C. jeweler and event sponsor, Boone & Sons Jewelers. Additional sponsors of the event included A.B.P. Designs, The Ballroom, Fancy Cakes by Leslie, Olazzo and Redken.
