Q: What made you want to become a hair stylist?
A: I just love people! Hair stylists get to change people’s lives and make people happy.

Q: What is your motto?
A: Always do the right thing.

Q: Best advice you have ever received?
A: The best advice I’ve ever received is to never stop learning. A close second is to always be nice to people even when they’re not nice to you!

Q: What can attendees expect from your presentation at Premiere Orlando?
A: Energy, passion and experience! I always aim to condense a decade’s worth of knowledge down into days!

Q: What is the main takeaway you would like attendees to get from your presentation at Premiere Orlando?
A: I want people to walk away with information that they can put into action immediately. Knowledge is not power, it’s information. It becomes power when you put it into action!

Q: What would you say is the best way to market yourself and build your brand?
A: Always do beautiful work. Whether its beautiful hair, gorgeous nails or excellent massages, always make sure you’re doing the best quality work you possibly can. After all, your work is your brand!

Q: What has been a turning point in the beauty industry in your opinion?
A: Generation X and the Baby Boomers were a huge turning point. They have a lot of money and they want to look younger so they’re always challenging their stylists!

Q: Can you offer advice or tips to someone trying to get into the education side of the business?
A: Success is not the realm of genetics. Success comes from practice – you have to work hard to be the best, even in education.

Q: If you had one piece of advice for a veteran stylist what would it be?
A: When you become successful, work even harder.

Q: What charity or charitable cause are you the most passionate about?
A: I work closely with the Children’s Miracle Network and support our local children’s hospitals, Baystate Children’s Hospital and Shriner’s Hospital for Children, as much as I can with events and donations. My students get involved a lot, like every Halloween we have a pumpkin decorating contest and bring dozens of fun, colorful pumpkins right to the kids!
