AG Hair has been named a 2017 winner of the Canada's Best Managed Companies program. The program recognizes the best-in-class of Canadian-owned and managed businesses. Every year, the initiative evaluates and recognizes companies with revenues of more than $15 million that demonstrate strategy, capability and commitment to achieving sustainable growth.

AG Hair's strategic planning has transformed the family-owned hair care line into a reputable beauty brand that manufactures sustainable, high-quality products, but also prioritizes corporate social responsibility. AG Hair has operated in Vancouver, B.C. for over 28 years and today is sold in more than 14,000 salons worldwide. The company recently announced plans to expand into a new state-of-the-art, 70,000 square foot facility that will support AG's new phase of growth.

AG Hair's new "Natural" category, which will launch in July 2017, features five products made with up to 98 percent naturally derived ingredients. A portion of every product bottle sold supports One Girl Can, a registered charity that provides educational opportunities to impoverished girls living in marginalized areas of Africa.

Established in 1993, Canada's Best Managed Companies is one of the country's leading business awards programs, recognizing Canadian-owned and managed companies for innovative, world-class business practices. Applicants are evaluated by an independent panel made up of judges from Deloitte, CIBC, Canadian Business, Smith School of Business and MacKay CEO Forums. Best Managed Companies share commonalities that include an emphasis on culture and people, innovation, sustained performance and strong financial results.

"This award is a testament to our people and we are extremely proud to be named one of Canada's Best Managed Companies,"AG Hair's Vice President of Organizational DevelopmentMichele Matthews, says. "It represents a group effort at every level of our organization and is a reflection of each member of our team collaborating, connecting and contributing to the company's overall success."

"Well-run companies are important to the economic health of our country. These companies serve as role models to help make all Canadian businesses better," Peter Brown, partner at Deloitte and co-leader of Canada's Best Managed Companies program, says.

2017 winners of the Canada's Best Managed Companies award will be honored at the annual Canada's Best Managed Companies gala in Toronto on April 19. On the same date, the Best Managed symposium will address leading business issues that are key to the success of today's business leaders.
