The Professional Beauty Association (PBA), producers of the North American Hairstyling Awards (NAHA), has announced two category changes starting in 2013: Competitors can now enter in the new “Men’s Hairstylist of the Year” category and make-up artists can enter in the “Make-Up Artist of the Year” category without a nomination of a hair stylist.
Having recently marked the one year anniversary of the salon shooting tragedy in Seal Beach, California, and now two more tragedies at salons in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, and Clearwater, Florida, in the past week, domestic violence continues to plague our society and was a root cause in all of these incidents.
