KEVIN.MURPHY Strengthens New England Presence Through New Partnership with Sullivan Beauty
Bringing global haircare authority closer to the chair, the partnership marks a renewed investment in New England's salons and stylists.
To meet Geno Stampora is to spend the rest of the day feeling…well, great about your life. He has the magical ability to subtly turn his focus on you in such an optimistic way, you simply feel cared about. And, who doesn’t need that these days?

Geno Stampora with his NAHA award.
I first had the experience at a 6:30 a.m. breakfast on a dark, snowy Chicago morning before a full day at America's Beauty Show. Even though I'm famous for being an early-riser, I had a long day of appointments ahead that day and the thought of a sunrise breakfast seemed like torture. But, as Geno graciously offered to use the complimentary coupon the hotel had given him to buy breakfast, we talked about the industry we both love, the value of human politeness, and the power of an optimistic attitude. That breakfast meeting ended up being the best moment of that day.
I recently had the pleasure of interviewing Geno again for the cover story of the October issue of SALON TODAY. We talked about how owners need to lead their businesses, his thoughts on giving back to the community and the industry, and what he's up to next.
Want to listen in? Catch a portion of that interview here.
This summer we all had the pleasure of watching Geno accept his NAHA Hall of Leaders award for his many years serving the industry as a hairdresser, salon owner, beauty school owner, distributor, salon coach and motivational speaker.
A clip we found on YouTube of Geno's NAHA acceptance speech. The recording is a bit rough, but the message is loud and clear.
