For the second year in a row, RedBloom has been named an Alberta’s Best Workplace finalist Last year it was a top 5 nominee in the Millennials category and this year is a finalist in both the Young People category, and the Best Overall with Under 100 employees’ category!

For the last nine years, Alberta Venture has presented a list of the province’s best places to work. “It has become a source of pride for the companies so recognized and an indispensable resource for businesspeople, employees and job-seekers across the province” (Michael Ganley, Editor, Alberta Venture).

“It means so much to be selected as a finalist – it’s a bit of positive affirmation. To say, ‘hey, you're doing something right!’ makes us feel great as a company,” said Jodi Ohama, Co-owner and Operations Manager of the 4 locations in Calgary. She attributes their success in the workplace to not only a great team of people who are passionate about providing a great experience, but also their leadership team who coach and mentor the team daily side by side.

Since 2004, RedBloom Salon has attracted and retained outstanding team members, in large part due to its supportive and positive company culture as well as commitment to ongoing training and development. “We work hard to provide a safe, supportive and long-term career workplace by innovating, being open to new ideas and working together for the same goal”, says Ohama.

Earlier this year, RedBloom Salon was voted as the Best Hair Salon for Women and Best Haircut for Men in the Best of Calgary Survey 2016 for the fifth year in a row! The past two years they have also been recognized as a Top 200 Salon in North America by Salon Today, recognizing business acumen, sustained growth and managerial leadership.

“It's great for our team to be recognized! We, as owners, create the space but they are the ones who work together, support one another, are innovative, creative, and try harder every day in this economy, while still having fun!”, says Ohama.

RedBloom will find out if it is a winner on Thursday, October 27th at the Alberta’s Best Workplaces Awards event at the Radisson Hotel Edmonton. This year’s awards feature 35 companies in 10 different categories.
