Raylon Corporation announced plans to honor the late Eufora Founder Don Bewley as its 2016 Art of Business Honoree at its Art of Business event to be held April 17-18 at the Philadelphia Airport Marriott Hotel in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.
“The Art of Business award is bestowed each year to a special individual who has made an ‘over and above’ contribution to the business side of the salon industry,” says Raylon CEO Howard Hafetz. Several industry awards are granted to those whose brilliance lies in the fashion arena, so we felt it fitting to have an award that focused attention on the category of good business.”
This year’s honoree has been a shining light and a beacon of inspiration to thousands of salon professionals in the U.S., Canada and worldwide. “Don distinguished himself as both a true thought-leader and cheerleader,” Hafetz says. “Over the course of his life, Don served in every role within the industry—he was a stylist, a multiple-location salon owner, a distributor and as the co-founder of Eufora with his wife Beth.
Bewley always had the hairdresser at heart, often encouraging them to keep learning. “I never wanted to be the expert, but am always striving to be the student,” he often said.
“Don always saw things in people that they didn’t see in themselves,” Hafetz says. “He was an inspirer, big brother and father image to so many and for all of these reasons we selected him as our 2016 honoree.”
Previous Art of Business honorees have included Ruth Roche, David Raccuglia, Geno Stampora, Neil Ducoff, Michael Cole, Jill Kohler, Sam Brocatto, Salon Today, Ann Mincey, John DiJulius, Deb Hoth, Lew Losoncy, the Professional Beauty Association and Intercoiffure.
This year’s Art of Business is filled with thought-provoking keynote speakers, including Antony Whitaker, Ellen Thompson, Geno Stampora, Neil Ducoff, Stephen Gomez, Francesco Ruggeriono and Josh Haftetz.
