Progressions Salon Launches Back-to-School Backpack Drive to Benefit the National Center for Children and Families

Progressions salon spa store in Rockville, Maryland, is sponsoring a Back-to-School Backpack Drive to benefit The National Center for Children and Families in Bethesda, Maryland. Progressions will be collecting age appropriate school supplies through August 18th. The community is invited to drop off backpacks with supplies during salon hours at Progressions salon spa store, 12211 Nebel Street, Rockville, Maryland. The Progressions team will also pick up donations, if needed.

The National Center for Children and Families is a private, nonprofit child and family welfare agency with a commitment to serving poor, disadvantaged, abused, neglected and abandoned children, youth and their families. The NCCF’s mission is to create total healthy living environments for vulnerable children, youth and families.

Backpack supply lists are noted in three categories: Grades Kindergarten-2, Grades 3-5 and Grades 6-12.

The backpack list for Kindergarten-Grade 2 includes: pencils (12 pack), five glue sticks, scissors, two composition books, four folders (assorted colors), crayons (24 pack), markers (8 pack), two pink erasers, pencil pouch, two dry-erase markers, ruler and two books.

The backpack list for Grades 3-5 includes: pencils (two 12 packs), five glue sticks, two spiral notebooks, colored pencils (12 pack), four folders (assorted colors), scissors, two pink erasers, pencil pouch, pack of wide-ruled paper, two dry-erase markers, ruler and two books.

The backpack list for Grades 6-12 includes: pencils (12 pack), eight blue, black and red pens, two highlighteners, two spiral notebooks, four folders (assorted colors), two pink erasers, pencil pouch, pack of college-ruled paper, two-inch binder and dividers, 100 3x5 index cards, pack of graph paper and two books.
