This year, Syntec Business Systems, Inc. (Syntec), the developers of Insight Salon & Spa Software, proudly celebrate their 25th year in the professional beauty industry. The effective and user-friendly software helps salon owners schedule appointments, manage clients and staff, automate marketing, track inventory and more.

“Since 1991, we have been devoted to the success of salons and spas around the world. The foundations for Insight began with a six-chair hair salon all those years ago. Now, Insight serves 42,000 users in 26 countries with the number continuing to grow every day,” said Trevor Radke, president of Syntec.

From single-employee salons and chair renters to large, multi-location franchises, Insight has helped thousands of clients to become profitable.

“Insight’s success stems from its devotion to clients. Since the beginning, our philosophy has been to not only provide the best software on the market but to ultimately support clients in growing their businesses,” says Steve Boer, vice president of Syntec. “This passion has been passed on from our management to our expert programmers, experienced customer support professionals, and dedicated sales staff. Our relationships with clients even extends to customizing the software to match their needs and objectives.”

“Over the 25 years, we have evolved with the growth of the beauty industry and the shifts in technology. As innovators, we constantly add and expand features and tools to give businesses the power and control they need. We filled that need as one of the first salon and spa management software programs to enter the market back in 1991,” says Steven Wiberg, lead developer for Syntec.

Through the years, Insight has released real-time online booking software, smartphone and tablet apps, SMS (text messaging) marketing, and a Cloud version of the software (the Installed version is still available and works exactly the same). Just a few days ago, Insight launched an all-new Membership module to serve salons and spas who wish to take advantage of this trending business model.

Beyond the beauty industry, Insight also supports clients from other sectors including tattoo studios, medical clinics, retail stores, schools, pet groomers, photographers, sports and fitness centers, and more.

In Dubai, Clients Visit the Salon Every Week. Here’s What That Market Can Teach You

In Dubai, a salon visit isn’t an appointment. It’s a weekly routine, and clients can spend $800 to $1,400 a month on it, according to Gaurav Tripathi of MADI International. On October 6-8, 2026, the market behind those numbers opens its doors as Beautyworld Dubai marks its 30th edition at the Dubai World Trade Centre, bringing together distributors, brands, stylists and salon owners from all over the world.
