The Emiliani Expo held this past weekend in Edison, NJ was a great success. Thousands of hairdressers attended the three day event which was chock full of education, hands on seminars, celebrity hairdresser sightings, main stage presentations, runway shows and great deals.
The highlight of the event was Runway V, a Tribute to Vidal Sassoon. Almost 2000 salon professionals came to the Expo Center to celebrate the life and legacy of our industry icon. Ted Gibson and Tim Hartley kicked off the evening with moving speeches followed up by a Sassoon inspired hair and fashion show. While this was a celebration, the speech by Elan Sassoon, Vidal's son, was emotional and impactful, and made us all remember that Vidal was more than a great hairdresser....but also a great man.
