KEVIN.MURPHY Strengthens New England Presence Through New Partnership with Sullivan Beauty
Bringing global haircare authority closer to the chair, the partnership marks a renewed investment in New England's salons and stylists.
Candy Shaw leverages Salon Today 200 data to illustrate than her Sunlights' Balayage is helping stylists and salons double their income.

When celebrity-stylist Candy Shaw, the creator of SUNLIGHTS Balayage launched her company three years ago, her goal was to double hairdresser productivity world-wide. Balayage helps hairdressers everywhere (who are mostly women) earn a better living and live a better life. Since SUNLIGHTS’ fast, efficient, ‘no-nonsense’ method of balayage education and products allow hairdressers to see two to three times the number of guests in a day, it enables stylists to double, often triple, their incomes.
Recently released industry statistic wholeheartedly support SUNLIGHTS’ claims.
Each January the U.S. beauty industry anxiously awaits the publication of Salon Today’s 200 which lists North America’s 200 most successful salons. Described as “the most prestigious business competition in the industry,” this month marks the 20th Anniversary of the announcement of the coveted awards by Salon Today,
According to Salon Today’s statistics, the average annual gross sales per square foot for the 2017 200 Honorees is just over $400. Jamison Shaw Hairdressers, named after Shaw’s dad--a former world-champion competition hairdresser, is one of just “a handful of salons who generated annual gross sales of $800 per square foot or more.” With 50 chairs, making Shaw’s SUNLIGHTS salon one of the largest of the Salon Today ‘Super Producers’, Jamison Shaw Hairdressers is among the top 5% of U.S. earners, bringing in twice the money of the average salon per square foot.
“How’d we do it?” asks Shaw, “Easy! Thanks SUNLIGHTS balayage! The numbers don’t lie. They prove what we’ve been saying all along, that SUNLIGHTS enables hairdressers to double, even triple, their incomes. We’re receiving reports from around the country of six figure growth in salon and suite revenues thanks to SUNLIGHTS. In fact, the three SUNLIGHTS salons mentioned in the Top 200, while making up less than 1% of the survey’s population, are responsible for bringing in nearly 4% of the survey’s gross revenues, or roughly $17 million. Everyone’s invited to join SUNLIGHTS’ balayage revolution and ‘paint your way to financial freedom’.”
SUNLIGHTS is currently distributed by a ‘Who’s Who’ ‘A’ list of ‘indie’ distributors in eight countries. To find one near you go to www.sunlightsbalayage.com/find_a_distributor.
You can next see Candy and the SUNLIGHTS Artisan Team, 28-30 January 2017, at the International Salon & Spa Expo in Long Beach, California.
