Several hundred salon professionals and 150 beauty school students attended the Cosmetologists Chicago (CC) "A First Mondays Event" holiday educational seminar last night. Wella Creative Director Fabio Sementilli hosted the evening of inspiration which included a night of giving, with all proceeds from the event, including donations, going to Hurricane Sandy salon victims. Sementilli introduced "The Sound of Color," Wella's Trend Vision offering for 2013. Stage presentations were made by Team I.C.A.N. stars Kathryn Hornick (for the Echo trend) and Brenton Lee (for Allegra) and special guest artist Shirley Gordon (for Fusion). A highlight of the evening was when Sementilli himself stepped on stage to demonstrate the Decibel trend, "where you can turn up the volume, turn down the volume, give a little base or a little treble...whatever you feel."

Thousands of dollars were donated last night bolstered by a $2500 check from Wella's Reuben Carranza. “Our peers on the East Coast are in our thoughts and we will do everything we can to help,” says Cosmetologists Chicago President Joseph Cartagena of Genacelli Salon & East Studio, Chicago.  “Their needs are not just for the short term and neither will our support be. From our ongoing Presidents Scholarship program to donating more than $45,000 to salons affected by Hurricane Katrina, Cosmetologists Chicago is always there for salon pros.”
