When Clive Lamb, owner of Clive & Company, was looking to relocate his Dallas salon, he found the perfect spot in the new, upscale Village on the Green shopping center. To give his salon the right look and feel for his clientele, he hired up-and-coming architect Mark McCollom-together, they achieved a look they call "quiet contemporary."
"I wanted it to be contemporary but not trendy, and I wanted it to feel welcoming," notes Lamb. The result was a salon full of rich colors and textures-evident in the light blue salon chairs and chocolate brown cabinetry-coordinated with natural tones. In addition, Formica materials were used throughout the salon, from the natural quartz surfacing in a variety of neutrals with blue and green accents to the wood veneers for the floors.
"McCollom's attention to detail really conveys the care we use in our salon when we service our clients, so they work well hand in hand," adds Lamb.
