My Boss Says…
Ginger Bay Salon & Spa
Kirkwood and Town & Country, Missouri
Owned by: Laura A. Ortmann

Ginger Bay set an audacious goal in 2013 of reaching 5,000 Facebook followers, but when in February ‘likes’ lingered around 2,960, the salon targeted 3,500 by April 1. To help reach the one-month goal, Ryan Campbell, the salon’s general manager held up a sign that read, “My boss says if we reach 3,500 ‘likes’ by March 31st, you receive 20% off on all product Monday, April 1st!” The post generated 230 ‘likes’ and 61 shares, and the salon reached its goal with 3,516 ‘likes’ by April 1.  “On April 1st, our Kirkwood location sold $6,374 in retail and our Town and Country location sold $3,107.”
