Tippy's Terry McKim and David Tashjian present a check to PBA's Bonnie Conte and Steve Sleeper to fund 10 professional beauty scholarships.

In an effort to provide salon industry professionals financial empowerment, Tippy, the disruptive, digital tipping application for the salon and spa industries, donated $10,000 to the Professional Beauty Association (PBA).  The funds will go towards continuing education programs that include financial literacy workshops and educational seminars, all designed to empower stylists financially.

The funds will be distributed in ten $1,000 scholarships granted to individual PBA Members that are licensed cosmetologists and go towards continuing education programs.  The programs are designed to empower stylists financially and include advanced academy and manufacturer education programs, business education and technology courses, and other established professional beauty industry education programs.

“We are excited to partner with the PBA,” said David Tashjian, CEO/President of Tippy. “They are perfectly aligned with Tippy’s goal of the financial empowerment of salon industry professionals.”

The Tippy scholarship is available for current PBA Preferred Individual Members who are licensed cosmetologists. The application deadline is August 31, 2019 and all submissions will be reviewed by a committee appointed by the PBA Chair. To learn more about this opportunity, visit probeauty.org/scholarships.
