SHOPPING TIP: “The look of your salon and the stations you choose distinguish what your salon is trying to say. Are you a hip salon in a downtown area? Is your salon in the country and the clients you attract would feel out of place going to a place with a New York city vibe? Is your salon in a very glitzy hotel that needs to give off a European look and feel? Are you building a salon in a family community and want to attract men as well as women? All of these things come into play when choosing your styling stations." —Jeff Grissler, Minerva creative director of public relations
