BMAC USA, manufacturer of hairstyling shears including the GeneX Series, takes its education to where stylists live and work.   At Cush Salon in Beverly Hills, the BMAC showroom, BMAC Artistic Director Hector Rodriguez (owner of Cush) welcomes stylists to his stage to talk about and demonstrate their haircutting work and how it is improved by using BMAC shears.  These educational events attract stylists, salon owners and well-known industry names.

At a recent class, working alongside Hector was session stylist, Carlos Ortiz, fresh from NYC Fashion Week. Ortiz, whose work has graced the pages of Vogue, More, Redbook, Rolling Stone and many other publications, shared styles inspired by his hair hero, Ara Gallant. “If I had the chance to assist anyone in the world, it would have been him;” said Ortiz.

Ortiz styled from the heart.  “I love big hair.  What moves me is waves, flying and moving hair.  And what really gets me going is a nice redhead and a blonde. Whenever I work a fashion shoot, I always grab a blonde.“

And on cutting with BMAC shears:”They’re like two samurai swords.”

During his demo, Rodriguez talked about how “much easier on my arms and hands these shears are.”  Working on a male model, he demonstrated dry cutting with BMAC shears. “They’re really conducive to dry slicing  if you want something very soft.”
