“This is my first time here and I came with my boss who wants to get into trichology.  We’re looking at the different extensions and hair pieces because we want to get certified in a program that we can offer at our salon.  I have a client who has alopecia from stress and I learned so much in the past two days about what I can do to help her.  I think it’s true that so many of our clients would go to a dermatologist instead of coming to a trichologist but there’s so much we can offer them, from diet suggestions and techniques for cutting and styling thinning hair.  I just want to help, like one of the speakers said:  I’m not brand loyal, I’m client loyal.”

The 2017 HAIR+ Summit provided heaps of education for attendees, but an integral part of the summit is the connections stylists, owners and medical professionals make with one another while they're there.

Inspired by the online portrait series Humans of New York, we sat down with 2017 summit attendees throughout the weekend to see what brought them to the event and what they hoped to achieve during the summit and beyond.
