For the 12th year in a row, Mane Attraction Salon in Phoenix, Arizona, teamed up with RESCUE to give pets a new lease on life. RESCUE, which stands for Reducing Euthanasia at Shelters through Commitment and Underlying Education, is responsible for saving dogs and cats from euthanasia, as well as providing them with the veterinary care they need to prepare them for adoption.

On Sunday, March 4th, hundreds of pet lovers came out to support the cause. Through donated salon services, pet-themed vendors and silent auction items, the salon raised more than $17,000 to support RESCUE this year, with more than $185,000 raised to date. In addition to the funds raised, several dogs found forever homes at the events.

"We have a special place in our hearts for the pets RESCUE helps," says Beate Ong, who operates and owns Mane Attraction with husband and fellow stylist Kendal Ong. One of the Ong's pooches, Einstein was a healthy, house-trained one-year-old when they adopted him from RESCUE. "Healthy animals are being euthanized because they are not adopted and placed in loving homes. Year after year, the real beneficiaries are the huggable animals that are adopted at this outstanding and important event."
