To my surprise, I received a letter from President Barack Obama today. In the concise memo, he thanked me for being a registered voter and encouraged me to head to the polls November 2:

"I am writing today to thank you for your good citizenship. Our democracy depends on people like you exercising your right to vote," he wrote.

Although, it was immediately apparent that this was a mass-mailed form letter and the signature was computer generated, it was still a bit of a thrill. And, a nice reminder that I need to clear some time from my schedule Tuesday and vote. No matter whom you vote for, I hope you will join me in doing the same.

It always helps to head to the polls prepared. The process can be overwhelming, especially when you head to the voter box, open your ballot and see how many choices you've got to make. I wanted to share with you a helpful website that the Professional Beauty Association developed. By entering in your zip code, you can access information about registering to vote, requesting an absentee ballot or research your elected officials:

CLICK HERE to access information and application forms for early voting, absentee voting, overseas voting and voter registration. (I realize it's a bit late for that today, but this is great information for next time.

CLICK HERE to find all your elected officials at all levels of government.

And, on Tuesday, I'll see you at the polls!
