Halloween has been salon owner Christina Dvorak's favorite holiday ever since she was a young girl. Now, the spook season is quickly becoming a favorite among the clients to Salon Tranquility in Niagara Falls, Canada. For the season, Niagara Falls' Salon Tranquility undergoes a gruesome transformation.

For two full nights in mid September, Dvorak decks the small salon out with spiderwebs, strobe lights, an opening casket and dangling casket. Outside the salon, clients are greeted by yellow CAUTION tape and gravestones. And, at the shampoo bowl, a spider dropping from the ceiling startles unsuspecting guests. "Last year, we also had a fog machine," she says. "But that set off the alarm, and the fire department responded. Although it was unintentional, we ended up getting some publicity out of it because everyone wanted to know where the fire was."

During her favorite season, Dvorak also frequently greets her guest in costume in her Queen Street salon. "The clients love that I'm so totally in spirit," she laughs.
