Striving to be eco-friendly while keeping up with business and trends can be quite the task. That’s where the National Association of Eco-Friendly Salons and Spas (NAEFSS) comes in to help.

President Tamara Jercha, a LEED-accredited professional and licensed cosmetologist, created the association with the help of Green Business Consultant Darrin Duber-Smith. The association invites salon and spa business owners to come together in favor of helping the environment. Members receive a certificate to display, monthly online newsletter with an Eco-Tip (this month’s tip reminds subscribers of the 3,700 billion-gallon water deficit per year), source guide to decode green products and more. The NAEFSS also offers certification programs to those who are fully dedicated to sustainable business practices. For more information, check out www.naefss.org.
