Cyrus Bulsara Passes Away at 72

As the founder of Professional Consultants & Resources, Cyrus Bulsara  spent decades researching and analyzing the professional salon and spa markets, producing data that guided the decisions of some of our biggest manufacturers. His 'state of the industry' reports were frequent contributions to both MODERN SALON and SALON TODAY.  Bulsara passed away surrounded by the love of his family in Plano, Texas, on October 29, following a heart attack.

Born in 1947 in Bombay, India, Bulsara built a career as an executive at a variety of consumer product, haircare and beauty companies, including Colgate-Palmolive, Redken, Clairol, Wella and Mary Kay.

In 1996, he founded his own consulting firm, Professional Consultants & Resources, specializing in the beauty, salon, spa and cosmetics industries. Bulsara was well recognized as an expert in the industry and often spoke at conferences, served as an expert witness in litigation and provided consulting services to financial groups investing in the global beauty and salon industry.

Bulsara enjoyed good food and music; he attended concerts of all types but especially loved jazz concerts. He cheered for his favorite soccer team, Manchester United and the Dallas Cowboys, planning his weekends around games. His technology skills and social media savviness were unrivaled, and he loved connecting and reminiscing with old friends and colleagues. Later in life he enjoyed cooking and began to reproduce many complex Indian recipes.

Bulsara was a devoted husband to Rashnè who predeceased him six years ago. They spent a wonderful 42 years together and lived together in Bandra, India; Ndola, Zambia; Newberry Park, California; Fairfield, Connecticut and Plano, Texas. They were always happy to spend time with their daughters and their four grandchildren.

Cyrus is survived by his daughters, Farah Bulsara Speer and her husband, Matthew and Avaan Lieberman and her husband, Michael; grandchildren, Zarina, Mitchell, Zachary and Ethan.
