WHERE IT’S AT: Cuttin’ Loose Salon in Dunnellon, Florida

DESCRIPTION: “Hair extensions aren’t just for long hair, they are also for the client who desires fuller or volumized hair.” says owner and Simplicity educator Jessica Chaney. “The hair graft extension, which is designed for the client who wants her short or medium length hair fuller, costs $30 for each piece. The grafts are also great for fringe and really look like they are growing out of a client’s scalp.”

APPLICATION: Simplicity hair extensions are applied using a comfort grip strip adhesive that binds securely and easily to the client’s natural hair. They can be applied in half the time of other extension techniques, saving hours for the client and the stylist.

LENGTH OF SERVICE: 1 hour

DURATION: The grafts last from four to six weeks.

PRICE: “The cost for these extensions varies by the area you live in, but in out salon we take a $300 non-refundable deposit and charge $400 (for a full head of long hair) at the time of service,” says Chaney “The fee for taking them out and retaping them is $300.”

TYPES: There are a variety of colors, including highlighted and lowlighted, and even radical colors such as royal blue and hot pink.

BENEFITS: “These extensions open up many styling opportunities for the artist, the salon, and for the client,” says stylist Vivienne Mackinder. “Each graft is created from 100-percent Indian Remi hair and is hand-knotted to offer the option of lift at the crown or a flattering side sweep.” The gentle adhesive fasteners eliminate weaves, clamps and chemicals from extension application.
