STAMP 2018: Get Clients to Watch Your Videos With Do-It-Yourself Video Tips

by Stacey Soble | September 13, 2018

Marketing is a salon’s way of telling its story in order to attract new clients and encourage existing ones to try different services from the menu. The ways salons leverage marketing to tell those stories is expanding every year, as owners sample newer vehicles like community videos, influencer programs and social media, along with more traditional methods.

Here is the winner of the best Social Video campaign in SALON TODAY's STAMP competition.

How to Blow Dry Your Own Hair
Broome Street Society
New York
Owners: Josie Sanchez and Andrea Hans
Broome Street Society created its own YouTube channel called BSSTV, and its most popular video to date is a blowout tutorial from owner Josie Sanchez. Throughout the video, she talks about retail items that are sold in the salon and offers helpful do-it-yourself tips.

“The video was featured in our newsletter, on our Instagram feed and on our Facebook page, which resulted in a lot of hits,” Sanchez says. “We were able to book more appointments for one-on-one styling tutorials and also
sent our clients home with a personalized video they can pause and rewind as often as they need to.”

This is one of only one of 31 marketing ideas featured in Salon Today's September/October S.T.A.M.P. issue. See the others here. (Coming Soon!)
