By growing her salon’s Facebook page organically over the past few years by posting daily, Sue Burkholder has learned that the best time to capture an audience is when the weather is bad. On a rainy March day, the salon leveraged the opportunity by offering a chance to win a free facial to anyone who shared the post.
“This post reached more than 19,000 people and had more than 800 reactions, comments and shares,” Burkholder says. “These contests always bring new faces through our doors and we always make sure to give them a tour and a salon menu, when they come in to pick up their prize.”
