Gordon Logan, founder and CEO of Sport Clips Haircuts, was recognized on November 16, 2015 as “2015 Vetrepreneur of the Year” by the National Veteran-Owned Business Association (NaVOBA) during a ceremony at Pittsburgh’s Heinz Field.
“It is an incredible honor, both professionally and personally, to be recognized by NaVOBA and sponsor USAA that do so much to support veteran-owned businesses,” said Logan. “We’re all in agreement that veterans have much to contribute, and I’m proud Sport Clips, our franchisees, team members and clients are among those who work to help veterans take the next steps in their careers through our Help A Hero scholarship program and other military-support programs.”
In recognizing Logan, NaVOBA President Chris Hale said, “Gordon’s story of overcoming adversity, learning from his failures and persisting personifies how the U.S. military prepares our service men and women for success as entrepreneurs. His focus on serving not only his customers, but also his employees and franchisees is why Sport Clips is a household name today.”
Logan is a lifetime member of the Veterans of Foreign Wars (VFW,) has received its “Citizenship Award,” and serves on the VFW Foundation Board of Directors. Sport Clips is the official haircutter of the VFW. In addition, Logan serves as chairman of the International Franchise Association’s (IFA) VetFran committee and has served as chair of the IFA’s VetFran mentor program.
