WORDS OF WISDOM: Your salon brand is not your logo, location or your menu. Your brand is how well you deliver your services through your people. Learn how to strengthen the skills of your brand (people), and ultimately you will strengthen your money at the end of the month.

BETTER BOTTOM LINE IN 2013: Understand that there are three main revenue streams in your salon: services sales, retail sales and gift card sales. Create a separate monthly business action plan for each of these areas with a monthly goal for each category of at least 20 percent greater than the same year last month. But don’t forget: 10 percent is strategy, 90 percent is execution!
