Milwaukee Salons to Show Support for Domestic Violence VictimsAs a show of support and to raise money for victims in the aftermath of the deadly shooting at Azana Salon, more than 80 Milwaukee area salons and spas plan to come together on November 13, 2012 to raise awareness about the potential tragedies that can stem from domestic violence, which was a key factor in the Azana shooting and other recent salon shootings in Clearwater, Florida, and Seal Beach, California.

Supported by the PBA Foundation's CUT IT OUT program, salons and spas are asked to sign-up to receive complimentary CUT IT OUT materials and donate between 5 percent to 25 percent of sales on November 13th, as well as wear a purple ribbon as a show of support. Other businesses that would like to participate are encouraged to donate a percentage of their sales as well.

"The tremendous support of Milwaukee area salons and spas for this grassroots effort has been amazing. We encourage people to visit a participating salon or spa on November 13 to support the victims of this tragic incident and send a message that domestic violence is not tolerated," states Jan Seybold, Owner of Carenza Color.Cutting.Experience and one of several organizers.

For additional information and to reach area organizers, contact Jan Seybold of Carenza Color. Cutting.Experience at 262-827-1000 or janseybold@hotmail.com; Dawn Panfil, Owner of Hair and Body Solutions at 262-780-2900 or hbsolutions700@sbcglobal.net; or Mary Beth Berns, Owner of Craig Berns Salon Spa at 262-646-7406 or mbb@wi.rr.com.

Milwaukee Salons to Show Support for Domestic Violence Victims"My salon is  two miles down the road from Azana, and we know people who work there," says Holly Bilicki of Colour Tube. "As beauty professionals, we hear stories all day long as we work our magic and lend a listening ear. Yet, on some level, we think of them as stories, not true events. So perhaps it doesn't always have the same impact on our emotions. On Sunday, October 21st, 2012, it was our story. It did effect us. While we can't change the horrific events of that day, we can do something about it. We can come together as a beauty profession and help support the hurting families who are left behind. We are all in this together, it could have happened to anyone."
