Bridal parties, birthday celebrations, corporate functions—today’s spas are rapidly becoming a popular setting for social gatherings. Booking them can present a challenge, but if you can do that successfully and include a healthy gratuity for your staff, you’ve got a winner. One of the best group services? The spa pedicure.

What: Eveline Charles Signature Pedicure

Where it’s at: Eveline Charles Salons and Spas in western Canada

Website: www.evelinecharles.com

Menu description: After your warm soak, your nails and cuticles are groomed to perfection. Your chosen Eveline Charles exfoliant is applied and then followed with your choice of Eveline Charles butter for your leg and foot massage. This service is completed with a paraffin dip to lock in moisture and you will leave with a complimentary pair of Eveline Charles sandals.

Price: $85

Who performs it: esthetician (in Canada estheticians are also licensed in nails)

Products used: exfoliant, butter, paraffin dip, polish and sandals

Length of service: 60 minutes

Why it’s the best: “Overall pedicures represent 28 percent of business in the spa—and that swells to over a third in the summer,” says Lina Heath. “During our service, clients receive a quarter-ounce bottle of their chosen polish for touchups and a pair of Eveline Charles champagne-colored sandals. Whenever they wear the sandals out on the street or around the house or pull that bottle of polish from the bottom of their purses, they see the brand and remember the experience of the pedicure service.”

Heath believes the signature pedicure is such a popular group service because it is a social service. “Our pedicure rooms are designed in a social setting and clients can converse with one another, and we have rooms that can handle up to nine clients at a time,” she explains. “When you’re in a treatment room, you are by yourself—it’s a great individual experience but doesn’t lend itself to a party.”
