Do you wonder where your retail sales have gone? With a battle cry to bring back retail revenue to salons, barbershops and beauty professionals, the Beauty Retail Revolution is a movement intent on empowering beauty professionals to invoke change within the industry and fight to maintain the professionalism of professional products.

The Beauty Retail Revolution was launched by SalonInteractive, an eCommerce platform exclusively for the professional beauty industry. It supports beauty professionals by providing an online retail solution that brings professional product sales back to salons, where they belong.

Instead of supporting their local salons, many salon clients have looked to large and/or online retailers to fulfill their beauty needs--in many cases, thinking they are getting a better deal. The result is a mass exodus of retail revenue from salons, which has caused many to resign completely from offering or selling retail. SalonInteractive wants to change that.

Through a series of events called Beauty Retail Revolution Rallies, industry leaders, beauty professionals and brands are brought together to create a space for community. The events offer a blend of education, netowkring and strategies in beauty retail aimed an supporting and uplifting professionals in the industry.

Each rally benefits an industry charity, such as HairToStay.

You can join the movement here. To date, two events are planned--one in San Diego, September 30 and one in Los Angeles on October 22. Click here to find out about events as they are planned. Or follow on Instagram @saloninteractive.

"For so many years, salon professionals have made sure their clients look amazing when they leave their chairs only to have them take a picture of the products to buy them somewhere else," says Randy Cotten, president of SalonInteractive. "We don't think beauty pros should lose that revenue to someone who's not involed in helping their clients. The pros are the ones with their hands on the client's hair, and can properly diagnose what products they need. When it comes to retail revenue, suddenly all of these large corporations want to be involved. The Beauty Retail Revolution is about changing that. It's a way for beauty professionals to discuss what they want to change in the beauty industry. And, what better place for a revolution to start than in a salon?"
