Maxwell did his own research, then started a club of friends who started educating students and challenging them to help. Now, the original team for the 2nd Generation Sassoon/Thirst Project partnership includes Kaz Amor, Tony Beckerman, Marylle Koken, Anthony Cress, Nina Kover, Carrie Balion-McDonald, Erin Short, and Amy Gammon. The team gathered support from many companies, including from VoCé, VitaFrute™ Cocktails by VEEV®, Sticky Candy at Sweet! Hollywood, Skin & Co Roma, Diabolo, Luna Bar, and Justin's, to launch the first event.
“Imagine what we could accomplish if we could get cosmetology students and stylists around the country to donate just a dollar, or by informing our clients and asking them to contribute a small donation to the cause,” says Sassoon. “We can make a change, and as my dad would say, ‘Let’s get on with it.’’”
