J Roberts Salon has opened a second location in historic downtown Hickory, North Carolina, breathing new life into an industrial building with a modern, sleek and innovative design.

The salon pays tribute to its roots with a wall mural for “Chero-Cola” that echoes a large advertisement that was once painted on the outer wall of the building. Exposed brick, hard wood floors and a rustic chandelier allow the space to maintain turn-of-the-century charm, while sleek black furnishings remind that this is a salon with forward-thinking ambitions.

With the motto, “education brings confidence and confidence brings success,” J Roberts Salon and Studios is clear in their mission to ensure that growth and investment in education is provided to every new stylist.

“The future and success of a salon depends on the ability to share and grow through education, experience and motivation,” says Jim Roberts, international director of show and education for Conair. “Investing in people and offering direction to the younger generation of hairstylists will be the key to the salon’s success."

Creating a work environment that offers structure and guidance with the freedom of self-expression is important at J Roberts Salon, as is a positive customer experience.

“To deliver the goods to the salon guest our focus will be on strong customer service, high quality products, a great salon experience with the value exceeding the price and salon innovation that makes scheduling an appointment as easy as the click of a mouse,” says Roberts.
