The 26th Annual America's Beauty ShowTHE EVENT:

The 86th annual America's Beauty Show, held March 27 to 29, 2010 at McCormick Place in Chicago.

DETAILS: ABS 2010 attendees poured through aisles of exhibits from leading hair care, nail care and skin care manufacturers. The show launched new beauty products, showcased innovations, and inspired salon professionals, salon owners and salon managers alike. The ABS Runway included presentations by Nick Arrojo for Arrojo products and Wella Professionals, Anthony Mascolo for TIGI, Rafe Hardy for Sexy Hair, Tabatha Coffey of Bravo's Tabatha's Salon Takeover and others.

EDUCATION: ABS featured a multitude of hair cutting and hair color workshops and master classes like Beth Minardi's popular "Conversations in Color" class for Joico. Other highlights included: The SalonSpa Sustainability Summit, which taught hair stylists how to be profitable and environmentally responsible in their businesses and communities; The School Assembly where the next generation of hair stylists gathered inspiration and career-building advice; The Salon Business Success Owner Management Forum, sponsored by P & G Salon Professional, where salon owners participated in an intensive session of sharing ideas on learning how to take back their salon clients; Texture!, sponsored by MODERN SALON and Naturallycurly.com showcased pioneers of and opportunities in the curly hair market.

MODERN AT ABS: The MODERN SALON TV crew was at the booth throughout the show, where they taped interviews conducted by MODERN Editor Laurel Nelson, Beauty and Fashion Director Maggie Mulhern and SALON TODAY Editor Stacey Soble. Industry superstars Kim Vo, Beth Minardi, Neil Ducoff, Ted Gibson and Anthony Mascolo were just a few of the people who graced the MODERN SALON stage.

TREND VISION: Wella Professional's Trend Vision 2010 featured stunning styles from Christopher and Sonya Dove as they presented the Haute Couture collection. The styles took inspiration from a blend of culture, nature, dreams and theatricals: Nomad Couture, Nature's Goddess, Techno Poetry and Midnight Stage.

HOT HAIR SYLES: The styles on the show floor were not to be missed this year. MODERN's editors explored the floor and sought out the most exciting looks at the live hair and color demonstrations that took place throughout the show.

THE NUMBERS: ABS 2010, along with the co-located Face and Body Midwest show, logged 58,727 non-exhibitor admissions over three days. Next year's date is March 12-14, 2011. For more information, visit americasbeautyshow.com.
