Matrix General Manager Colin Walsh recently traveled to his hometown of Barrie, Ontario where he re-connected with his childhood stylist, Sharon Smith. Walsh was joined by Dr. Lew Losconcy, motivational speaker and co-author with Walsh of On—A Brilliant Way to Live and Work.

Smith hosted a gathering of 100 of her friends and colleagues for a presentation and book signing by Walsh and Losconcy.

Walsh describes Smith as  being “pretty, fun and stylish” with a creativity and energy that inspired his successful beauty industry career and his admiration for and connection with hairdressers.

Smith says of Walsh, “It had been 25 years since we had seen each other. He was a young teenager and now he’s delivering such wonderful and empowering messages. Early in my career Dr. Lew really inspired me. I’m so pleased that I was finally able to thank him.”

Walsh told Smith, “You impacted my life and my self-esteem with your talent and gifts.”

The Matrix team in New York organized the event in Barrie. “You never know how you’re going to affect someone who is sitting in your chair,” saysSmith. Visit matrix.com.

Kudos to Colin Walsh for taking the time and making the effort to thank the person who played a big part in his decision to become involved in the hairstyling industry. I wonder how many of us wish we had the chance to go back and truly thank that person who really impacted us in our early lives. It is wonderful to see people who walk the talk. Thank you Colin and Dr Lew for making the day very special for Sharon.
