Recently on World AIDS Day 2011—December 1st—Hairdressers Against Aids held a press conference that announced the efforts of the unique Hairdressers Against AIDS advocacy campaign.

Hairdressers Against AIDS was created as a global advocacy program that aims to empower the entire industry of hairdressers and salon professionals to use their unique relationship with their clients and communities to become a resource to interact, educate and help prevent the spread of HIV. Hairdressers Against AIDS aims to get people to reduce their risk, get tested for HIV, and talk about HIV with friends and loved ones.

After launching in the U.S. one year ago, Hairdressers Against AIDS took their message one step further—by engaging students to help spread the HIV/AIDS awareness message. Professional stylists and colorists across the country took the Hairdressers Against AIDS message to top, local beauty schools on World AIDS Day 2011 while also encouraging additional salons and consumers to join the conversation by visiting www.HairdressersAgainstAIDS.com.
