Two neighboring salons in Orange County, California, recently swapped shears, salons and clientele for an episode of Style Network’s Split Ends—a reality show that explores what happens when two stylists trade places with one another.
Circa92 Salon and Splitends salon were given daily challenges that tested their artistic abilities and professionalism.
“It’s always interesting to find out how other salons in the area are run,” says Circa92 Salon owner Lela Aguirre-Smith. “Business-wise, our appearance on the show definitely increased our visibility and generated a few new clients—and even a few new stylists looking to learn how to build their business.”
Given the opportunity, would she do it again? “Absolutely yes,” she says.
