Every summer in Chicago, the streets by Grant Park line up with thousands of people for a three-day festival called Lollapalooza. And, every year, musicians and celebrities gather at the VIP Music Lounge at the Hard Rock Hotel Hard Rock to spend a little down time before the festivities. For the past seven years, RED 7 SALON has been working at the lounge for Lollapalooza. This year, they worked exclusively with CK1 and offered hair services (to compliment CK1's make-up services) to invited VIPs/Artists in the lounge area.

At Glenn Michael Salon in Metairie, LA, salon owner and stylist Glenn Milliet says they have offered hair extensions for some time now, but they never had a solution for clients who had thinning hair throughout the crown and the top portions of the head. After 12 weeks of partnering with SureTint Technologies in a market trial, a system that guides colorists through the color preparation process, the Mario Tricoci salons in Libertyville, Crystal Lake and Naperville have reduced officially reduced their hair color waste, and have announced that they have more inventory control and formulation accuracy because of using the system. Davines and The Fruit Tree Planting Foundation are teaming up for the second annual Sustainable Beauty Day, a proud partnership that raised over $25,000 due to the participation of 54 salons in the US and Canada last year. This year the effort aims to raise $50,000 to fund a fruit tree planting project in Brazil.
